Failed special delivery

Normally I place all my sd's seperatly in van but today I placed an sd with other reg parcels for same address. Address A.
I started walk and soon had to go to end of walk in order to do other sd's.
I would normally have reached address A before 1pm if walk was done in sequence.
I totally forgot about sd for address A until I reached address A near end of day 2pm.
Receipient signed for it.
Question: I will explain what happened to dom tommorow but will I be in trouble?

you should get a daily pda message at 12 to remind you to get them done, even if it means stopping what you are doing and go do sd's, or the company gets fined ££££'s for late scanned ones.

I completely forgot that I had an sd for that address. That was the problem

Make a list of your SDs

Doesn't matter where you put them just don't loose any and if proper RM sd then deliver them all b4 1 pm, foreign SDs can be scanned after 1 pm. We are only human and with the pressures of the job mistakes happen so probably get a slapped wrist and told not to do it again.

Live and learn I suppose.
I'm always very carefull just this once I put it seperate and forgot about it.
Haven't been in this job for very long so I'm worried what dom will do.
No point me saying pda was playing up I prefer to be honest and take responsibility whatever the outcome.

dont worry about it you will get a telling off but wont get a warning - as you say be honest and mistakes happen to us all

I believe the consequences will depend on whether the sender spots that the item was delivered after 1pm. No complaint, no consequences.

Who does the 'fining'?

I know the sender or receiver can claim compensation if a SD is not delivered before the appropriate time 1300 (£5 or £10 for substantial delay I think plus refund of costs),
but if neither submits a claim are you saying RM 'fined' by OFCOM or somebody for failing levels of service?

I always carry a card (the one we used for spls before pda's) if im late i've used that before, but not put a time on it and tell them when i get back to the office ,accidents happen but showed i did all i could to amend it . you'll just get a slapped hand and at most coached on what to do in the future, good idea is to write them down and leave list on dash board so you both see it .

I'm glad you all have the space to keep your SDs separate, mine get put in order around the van, normally wherever there is a bit of space.

Came back to work yesterday thinking that xmas was over.

I was asked to explain how TWO failed ... six months later. Funny enough I remembered the day, and explained how I didn't even know they were in the bag. I was passenger in van share doing my half of the drivers duty. It was the busiest day ever, and we didn't leave the office til after 11. Nothing was said, driver wasn't even spoken to.
