Busiest day ive experienced today

Been a postman for 3 years now, today was the busiest ive ever had it. Parcels through the roof, virgin media for almost every house, and then to go along with stupid amount of catalogs we currently have, national trust!

Went 4.5 hours over my finish time, should get paid of course, but i didnt sign up for this

One postman worked til half past 6 yesterday cos his partner cut off with 3 loops to go.

1and a half over on my so called easy duty. was forth back with the usual suspects back in record time even with nat trust and parcels galore.

job is getting out of control with cuts/growth in parcels, advertising mail/ extra being put on us all the time/ unrealistic budgets coming from people who have no clue what chaos is going on in delivery & an overall workload that has so many people falling apart its quite scary.
Ive never seen so many on light duties for injurys.

4 coded trays, 3 yorks of parcels and 15 buddy trays, a spare man, no sorting and still went over by half an hour. Worst day I've had for a while

On P/L I being the driver had 60 large parcels to deliver as well as my loops to do.
Round is 4 hours 15mins. It took roughly 2 hours to do 60 Large parcels at 3 mins per call so that leaves 2 hours 15 mins to do my loops drop off bags to my partner and do 4 collections.
The management are absolutely clueless , told us to leave what was left at 9am and tie up and go and get it finished (thought that was wilful delay}
Ended up them trying bullying tactics on the weaker ones. Its now cut to the bone , PHG's on delivery and the line manager trying to cover the callers office ,docketed parcels all over the place as nobody to put them away.
Absolute shambles
Deliver to neighbours........... we don't even have time to deliver to the 1st address

Remember Moyà says we go to work with a skip in our step ,! The worst thing is they want us to do even more , longer deliveries etc . They physically can't get any more out of us , stick you're privatisation up yer bum !

(DOM) Err.. yes sir, its all gone out the door, not a peep out of anyone today... sorry got to go the kettles boiling! (Puts down phone and rushes out the door to deliver cut offs)

You posted this at 16:50 , which at 4.5 hours over finishing time would make your normal finish 12:20?

You posted this at 16:50 , which at 4.5 hours over finishing time would make your normal finish 12:20?

I am on a tiny contract and rely on overtime. It should be 1pm finish but i come in at a pre arranged 1 hour early which moves it to 12
