The SSOW for the HCT states that the maximum load must not exceed 30kg on STEEP sections.

The manager is responsible for assessing the routes suitability for a hct, worth checking the type of hct as 30kg limit is for mark 2 hct which is the one with solid sides these are less common than the mark 1 hct the ones with the fabric sides and those have a 40kg limit which is over half of max weight for this type of hct

If I remember correctly hct should not be used on more the a 1 in 8 incline.

The Aplus system will show the designated terrain (as flat/undulating/steep). These have different walking speeds attached, which are used in GeoRoute.
The Pegasus parameters are:
Wheel HCT - flat - 5.98 kph
Wheel HCT - undulating - 4.90 kph
Wheel HCT - steep - 5.19 kph
The designated speed for 'steep' is slightly quicker than that of 'undulating' because it's a DOWNHILL speed. HCT routes should be planned so that people don't push trolleys uphill on steep terrain!

I'm not disputing those figures you quoted, but who on earth decides 5.98kph (~3.71mph) is a reasonable average figure to use for flat terrain, taking account of the inertia of getting up to speed from a standstill and slowing to a stop (typically within ~3 metres) that varies massively according to the mass of the HCT (~35Kg) and the mail inside (in theory up to ~70Kg)?Bp1 wrote:The Aplus system will show the designated terrain (as flat/undulating/steep). It's an average of actual measured speeds, that takes into account the acceleration/deceleration.
These walking speeds are about to undergo a process of re-measurement. This will, of course, be done by qualified Industrial Engineers with CWU support.

So the average speed of 3.7 MPH means at times you will be going slower and at times obviously you MUST therefore be going faster. Not faster for a few seconds - you must for example be going close to 5MPH for a full THIRD of your round if you are going at around 2.5MPH for the other third (when picking up speed, slowing down and crossing roads).Bp1 wrote:It's an average of actual measured speeds
