Worst Xmas

Thank God,that's over for another year..Has to be the worst, most dis-organized,messed up xmas I've had to encounter in the 27yrs I've been doing this job at our office.Rant over!

Only 7th Xmas for me, but totally agree. An utter shambles due to under staffing, bullying of existing staff to extend their day to make up the shortfall, a previously botched revision based on 'falling mail volumes' not increased parcels, door stepping or one knock and off with the P739 left hanging as staff struggle to cope, and there's more.

In our office they introduced a change in the SA duty just a few weeks before Xmas, meaning as well as the increased workload we had to collect during the day from several boxes designated as daytime collections rather than at night. What a right royal cock up. How we got through it I'll never know, but we did and I suppose that's all they care about.

I believe on the basis of what I have seen we have dropped to the level of service of Yodel, DPD and others, we are all the same now.

all boils down to staff levels. We had a good Xmas in our office cos we took on 20 new starters a couple of months ago. Busy, hell yeah but enough staff to cope, that's the difference.

Yeah as above .Not bad at all in our office.DOM kept out of the way and left us to get on with it and We did.Had a few go down along the way with that flu bug but We managed OK .My only whinge was the amount of rain We had

Much the same in my neck of the woods, it's as if the RM hierarchy are always surprised that Christmas suddenly appears in December (my guess is they see the first xmas tv adverts and decorations in shops at end of October and think "Oooookay Christmas gone now ")
A few new starters, but not nearly enough to replace staff that have left over past two years (one jacked it in a week within starting and one just never turned up). Van shares going out with one PDA between them with oodles of amazon packets that needed a scan (well thought out idea that RM, not ).
On the bright side....................................oh hang on, there isn't one.

Defintley the worst I've done in 28 years. Disorganised chaos would be the best way to describe it. Worst Christmas Eve I've ever worked great to see we're appreciated. The company can't keep taking on new work I.e Dhl foreign tracked without a overhaul of vehicles as combos bippas etc aren't fit for purpose when you get 3 microwave ovens 2 hoovers and everything else they want to throw at us.

why oh why do we need linos for every section when just a dom and underdom is enough. These men and women simply stand about watching us, then go home early after their long break playing the computer?
Such a waste of money then they get a £2k+ bonus get rid of them now.
We were promised coaches, got them and paying them so linos do even less now
they might give us a huddle now and again but a coach could that!
Until they go the rm will be on a downward slide. Everyone should be agreeing with this, especially in larger offices with more than 1 postcode section. GET RID!

There's no way I could just stand around and watch others working flat out. How do these linos and doms sleep at night. Ps is it right about their 2k bonus? Or just propaganda.

I, for one, am glad it's over. Putting in 47+ hour weeks and only getting an hour overtime for 3 hours over was a ballache. Yes, i could have cut off but then, as an ex-squaddie, i ensure i look after my team. Not sure whether hard work or maytrdom will kill me first ;)
