Hi after info on the above how much per week are you paid and what can you expect to do,anyone on here who performs this role,as much info received is most welcomed .

The coaching allowance is £36.04 a week. The amount of work you do will vary from office to office. Some take it more seriously than others. It helps if there are other coaches in the office to share the workload. If you have a big round then you'll struggle to give any proper coaching at all.The managers are only interested in clearing the office. Coaching/training comes second , no matter what anyone else tells you. You'll teach new recruits best you can and offer coaching to existing staff who are failing in a task. This is a thankless job . But £36 for doing jack sh'' ? Worth putting in for it and then resign if it don't suit.

You won't do any coaching in our office, the position is non-existent in practice. Occasionally the post is advertised, but never properly implemented or even paid for.

This, the one at our place doesn't even know how to use a PDA when scanning packets back in that you couldn't deliver Or how to use the PDA to do Saturday retention

Also, he is a non driver and tries telling you how to drive

Ditto £36 for doing nothing! Now there's one allowance I wouldn't mind RM clawing back. That's over £1800 a year (That'll pay for idle buggers holiday).

You normally find it's one of the old "Office Mafia" that's had the job for years and it never comes up for re-signing. The last work I can remember them doing was when we got rid of the bikes and they had to everyone through using the PDAs, which must have been about 2 years ago!

To add insult to injury you normally find any newbies being taken out, and trained, by fairly new guys themselves. Probably accounts for the lack of knowledge among these Posties. It's not their fault they've just never been trained properly!

Wasn't advertised to us, we only found out we had one when he came up to the office to give a talk about making sure all items are sent from the PDA

Exactly this , we have one in our office who does not even know the sorting , the company makes cut backs here there and everywhere and throws money each week at these people , the two in our office have done zero in 6 months for the money.

We get leadership allowance at a whole £3 a day.
