PDA Question

I think the PDA's we have are crap.
What does the double ** sign mean in the top left corner? Does it basically mean 'no signal' or something?
And why does it happen?
Machinery that doesn't work and we get a 'telling off' by manager when items don't go through.

yellowbelly, that's really helpful, thanks! Been with RM 3 years and never been shown how to use a PDA. Just worked it out myself, but interesting to know what ALL the functions are. Oh for decent training - or any training!!

Or have you ever put a packet through the letterbox only to realise you have scanned the wrong barcode and then have to try and scam the packet through the letterbox as you can see it lying on the mat.

And these 'delivery scanned' packets where you scan the barcode and the office postcode comes up instead why are the 2 codes so close together on the packages!!!!

Why do 'colleagues' steal each others PDA's or batteries? How come when I'm off I always have my PDA robbed and end up with a s**t one when I come back?

One of the biggest design flaws is that they don't download when sat in their cradle, you would have thought that they'd have a wired network link when sat in the cradle!

Log out to the home screen where your name is > stick it on a charger > put your PIN back in. This usually connects it back up

If still stuck on the stars, hold down the yellow button top right of the keypad until the blue light comes on and then release the yellow button, let it re-boot back up and then log back in

If serious, remove the battery and hold the little reset button in under the battery, insert battery and let it boot back up

They normally connect better on DO INDOOR than on DELIVERY. If it won't download log out and log back in on indoor :)
