Just wondering are you always able to book every item on before the office closes or do you leave stuff intill the next morning?
i know different offices open later than others on a regular basis, but more so wondering how offices closing at 4 in the afternoon cope?

She does not leave anything unbooked for morning/early staff because he got plenty to do i-e killing off,CLEO ( CLEO is on both systems now ) and booking in Customs. All these tasks SHOULD be done before enquiry office open for public. Our enquiry staff do not do surcharge items but leave this task for posty on light duty.

How is your Enquiry Office getting on with new booking in ..and ..booking out system during X-mas pressure time??? Are you allowed extra staff ? any problem ? in our enquiry office , one posty in early shift and two late shift. 300 items get booked in and same number of customers come in for collection. Our enquiry office open 6am -- 7.30 pm to the public.

Strange and possibly illegal for RM to be employing a child for the duty.......Gold Fox wrote:Our enquiry office closes to public at 6 pm but girl carrying on booking ALL the item till 7.30pm.

Re: booking on system....
We've had sps for about 3 months now.
We've had no additional hours or staff put into our callers, it's just the 1 woman.
Over christmas we have managed to get the RLE's hours moved forward an hour to book yesterdays items in from 05.30. Callers opens at 06.30 over xmas. DOM support also does 1-2 hours every morning.
Past couple of weeks we haven't got anywhere near to having all yesterdays items booked in before opening. It's a nightmare and really stressful for the callers duty - especially as there is just the one duty.
An extra callers duty was put in at the start of this week from 12.30pm - close at 19.30pm. But he has already been sent out on delivery and so doesn't get to do as much in the callers as he could.
Today was the regular callers duty day off. relief duty was sent out to deliver parcels (despite regular delivery staff going home from about 12pm today). The late shift guy came in at 10.30 to work till 17.30 and then got additional help from a guy on light duties and also a manager.
Why doesn't the regular duty holder get any help? Ever ?
I'm the RLE duty holder and i go into the callers usually from around 12pm till 14.00 but with just 2 computers in there it's difficult if there are 3 people in there (but it's not very often). God knows what the 3 were up to today in there.
I also help with the CLEO and kill offs when i cover the regular callers meal relief each day.
It's a real mess in our DO and we're only getting about 400 items back a day over xmas, so far.
Management hide behind the USO to cover deliveries at the expense of any indoor duties. They don't care that it then takes the indoor duties a couple of days to catch up.

Re: booking on system....
Royal Mail has invested so much in this system but failed on man power , its good system but needs more hours to put in. In our office poor guy and girl are giving away their meal break time to this system , just to keep up to date.
