In this case its a need to know principle. If management needs to be told, they will be told, if they don't they won't. OPGs don't need to know except in special circumstances and the same will apply.

If people find out unofficially that someone, or themselves, is under suspicion then it could be a breach of confidence, or even a Breach of the Data Protection Act (Data can be physical, computerised or even just knowledge) but most RM managers don't understand the implications of either.

As it could be quite complicated I would get guidance from an Area Level rep and be guided by them, but a grievance or an ET at some point is certainly possible.
