Hi all long time reader , new poster.

Work today, just come out of the office and stopped with partner to do our lapse. Returned to the van and found a gentleman from IB waiting there. Took our names etc cause the foot guy decided to put two of our bags in the front to do straight after lapse so he "failed us" saying someone could see that as an opportunity to smash the window and steal the mail.

Now, we are told we can leave a trolley at the start of a cul de sac as long as it's in view so my argument is the van was in view the whole time I did 15 doors and it was securely locked, surely the logic is completely backward if we are gonna get punished (fingers crossed we don't) cause we left some mail kind of in view in a secured vehicle vs a trolley out in the open for any kid to run up and grab something from the bag.

Has anyone had any dealings of this sort with IB. Will the driver get in trouble for his partners stupidity also?

I would'nt worry too much, one of ours was caught on Monday with his PDA on his HCT and the key still in the lock and he was 30 yards away from it.

you will get a slapped hand by your DOM and told to be careful and do the job properly in future.

IB will be around again within the next two weeks to check up on the office again.

The IB guys is right.
Who ever told you the cul de sac thing is wrong.(As a long time RMC reader you should know that)
Do the job properly.

In regards to the cul de sac...i can only go off what the management say in the WTL meeting. I guess ill see what happens today in regards to IB stopping us. Thanks for the info all :)

was about to post that this was the likely outcome, its just like all these "cutting corners" things, theyre great 99.9% of the time, but the 0.01% DOES eventually happen, glad it worked out ok for you this time !
