do we have any idea why it is taking so long to come back to us with some facts on the tabled agreement?

Heard yesterday that the cwu negotiating team get the same salry as :cfo & :lfo when they are around the table. Could this be the reason the cwu are dragging out these agreement talks?

RM agree to meeting tomorrow to clarify details for PEC, but the deal stands as it was endorsed by Billy Hayes & Dave Ward. So it looks like RM aren't budging, no matter what PEC want clarifying.

Once we have that clarifacation, i presume the deal can be put to a vote with a recomendation to accept or reject.

RM will take more notice of the rank and file saying no than they will the PEC.

Because there's wildcats in Liverpool and Leeds, and they're almost certainly playing a waiting game for them to return to work so they can announce the deal with no ongoing strike action. This will make the likelihood of the wildcats spreading due to a crap deal (and crap it must be) far less likely if no offices are already out. The answer to this is supporting Liverpool and Leeds, either financially or by joining them.

what i find hard to understand is that if Billy Hayes & Dave Ward agreed the deal on friday, how come it has to go to the PEC for them to spend 3 days on it to try and agree it before showing us. Surely if Billy Hayes & Dave Ward have agreed it then that is the deal that should be put to us the members? or am i missing something here?

What`s the point of to-ing and fro-ing to RM for amendments? Surely they`ll say no as they now hold all the cards-there are no strikes this week and guaranteed another 7 days minimum without any more. This is taking for ever.

Because the PEC is the responsible body outside of your national conference. They take the decision on any recommendation. Hayes & Ward don't get a vote on the EC. Only the lay reps do.

The problem is that the PEC doesn'y control the negotiators.

i'm now beginning to think that this so called 6.9 % over 18 months might be the most important part of the agreement after all. it is the one thing they can't take back whereas you know that 6 months down the line they will break the agreement and impose more strings. i know we've said it's never been about the money but i think that's all we're gonna get out of it looking at the bigger picture

If no agreements reached by tom,the management have another wave of exec action starting nxt week, if this happens we should use this as a premise for the whole country to go all out, unofficial :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

According to RM there are no ammendments just clarification!
