What are my chances,advice please.

ok folks my days off are sat 26th dec and mon 28th dec long weekend,i undertand I will get mon 28th dec back as a days credit,i want to use this spare day and have thur 24 th dec off xmas eve,as we are going away for xmas,will this be straight forward to do with the dom .

U shouldn't be getting 28th back as a credit as its classed as an in service day, and absolutely no chance of u getting Xmas eve off

very poor advice, being dishonest like this is one of the reasons people who are genuinely ill get hassle from managers, there is no excuse for claiming to be ill when in fact you are not, doing so is just as bad as the managers who bully people back to work in my opinion

only option really would be to try and get a swap, xmas eve is generally not mega busy(dare i say quite) so someone may like to work that for an earlier finish in exchange for tuesday 5th january (which if you are on a rotating day off you should be due to work) as that tuesday has the potential to be mega busy, also you could sweeten the pot, if you are going away xmas eve but not to later in the morning, offer to go in and do an hour or so sorting for the person who is swapping with you, if you can get them finished early then i personally would jump at the chance

This. Just be sure to let a manager know. They're usually only interested so long as the job gets complete at no extra cost.
We've had people in our office swapping days off without letting management know and not being paid as they're calling it an unauthorised absense.

dont you get the 26th as credit too ?
if not, how can someone who works their SA day, get paid essentially a day of SA pay extra for doing the same amount of working hours ? seems unfair

Is it really the 4 weeks before Xmas classed as no leave allowed. I ask because back in the summer I had a week to book and the old DOM gave me the week beginning 31st November as annual leave. The new DOM is not impressed but hasn't asked me to work it yet!!

i dont know about every office, but i think most offices dont allow leave in those weeks. I doubt itll get cancelled at this late stage as he hasnt tried to change it already, any change now would be too late notice imo

I`m on leave till Dec 7th, so not in our office
