xmas working arrangements

at our delivery office of about 25 staff we have been told that over the xmas pressure period, after lengthy and in depth discussions between our dom and her boss of course, that our xmas arrangements will be the same as they have been for the past few years,
no extra staff,
no guaranteed overtime,
no extra van,
but you can work your day off,but only for 5 hours pay
no effing thanks

hope you other people do better than us

2 extra packet duties
SA rate if guranteeing to work rest days in december ( and doing them )
3 extra vans
full 7hr 48min pay for day off + overtime a plenty for those who want it.

bringing the day forward by 30 mins accross the board ( start at 6am ) to hopefully stop the majority of posties working into the dark hours.

some offices are just destined to fail before December have even started

So many people on light duties and off sick that they're throwing o/t at us arm. Long may it last kinda.
I work every other day off on the run up to Xmas and I'll do o/t to make sure my walk is done.

yeah it is, management just rely on a Xmas miracle to pull them out of the s**t at the last minute.

thats all well and good theyre withing their rights to do this, cant really argue it, just let them deal with the chaos that it *should* bring about. If people come in for 5 hours, thats on them, if people dont follow cut off procedures thats on them too. Personally I`ll be working the same as always,no rushing around, no extending, they need to arrange any cut offs that may ensure... merry xmas !
