Lates on collections- do they really matter?

Hi gyus just need some clarification on the late scanning in collections.When I was trained for the job many years ago I was told never to scan early, don't do misssed and dontrt wory about the lates - you can not be done for lates. Over the years if somebady had an early scan he was pulled up on it - conduct code - which is fair enough....those where the rules. But recently they have started chasing us for lates, bareing in mind many drivers change their order of collection points so naturally scans come up us lates.
My question is can you be done for doing you duty in more efficient way by the conduct code because it does not make sense. Shall I just follow the managers instuctions and do the round as it is or shall I stand my ground and do it my way .....just to underline that the time that I come back to the office is no different, so at no stage there is there any delaying of the mail...tx in advance!!!

If your dom tells you to do it one way but you decide to ignore his instruction as you think you know better (which you probably do to be honest) then yes you can be conducted

managers are paid to make these sort of decisions not you, just do it the way he wants and don't worry about it, if it all goes wrong or you need to cut off its his problem at end of day
