having a day off?

is it true that if ur only sick for one day then you might aswell have the whole week off because even just having one day off counts as having a whole block of days off?

i was told this today by several colleagues after i had a days sick on monday.

one sick day is no different to 6 months sick. it's classed as one of 3 strikes before you get a stage one. from my experience anyway. According to the business... go back as soon as your able... or even before you are able...

Wrong 6 months on the sick triggers a stage one one to 14 days or 4 instances in a 12 month cycle will trigger a stage one.

ah right... I got given a stage one after 3 times off within 12 months. Who knows maybe they just want rid of me

That normal for 3 times absent. you only need to get worried when you are in stage 3. After 12 months without absence stage 1 will go back to 0.

I believe under the new absence system it's now only 6 months of no sick leave before it wipes your record clean, at least that's how I read my last stage 1 notes.
