Feeling under pressure
Got put off work for 4weeks today by my doctor not fit for work so I gave the sick line to my manager and he asked me could I come in on light duties I am covered by the disability discrimination act from 2010

All depends on what the reason is for the absence it depends on whether it's an illness or injury that's covered by the now equalities act

If your GP had thought you were fit for light duties he/she would have written 'fit only for light duties'.
Follow your doctor's advice EXACTLY and do NOT go into work against that advice.
If you do ignore your doctor you are in a sticky legal situation if for example you have an accident at work or potentially on the way into work - depending on your illness.

I had a sicknote saying I could work but light dutys last xmas they said they don't do light dutys anymore and turned them to sicknotes mt doc was going mad

Why was he going mad? its nothing to do with your doc whether royal mail allow you to work light duties, doc says what in his opinion you are fit enough to do that's it, an employer is within their rights to make you stay off work if you are unfit to do your employed duty, just because your willing to do other duties doesn't not give you a right to them, also you can still accrue sick days towards stage warnings, if however the injury or illness was covered by the equalities act then the situation would be different

Just wondered if Posties can go from a stage 0 to a stage 2? as i might be getting a stage one but am currently off work atm. just wouldnt want to jump to a stage 2.. or part
