How many short?

Keep it nice and straight to the point, HOW MANY FULL TIMERS SHORT ARE YOU IN YOUR OFFICE?
We moved into our new office and signed the agreement, to have 14 part timers and everyone else would be on Full time contracts.
We moved in and surprise, surprise, we have currently 11 part timers and are also 4 full timers short.
The people in charge are coming out with the usual BS, that they are struggling to recruite!
Walks are now starting to fail, overtime is going through the roof, managers don't know what to do, and all because the Dom hasn't got the balls to stand up and tell the truth to the people above him.
Now the managers have been told that they are losing 3 managers in the office, meaning the ones left in the office will now have to start working for a change, so it's rats deserting a sinking ship and they all want out!

I Would say in an office of around 30-35, we are 8 staff members short, and off the staff that are there, about 10 are part timers doing a full timers job. Everyday is a shambles, and to make things worse, the boss is constantly lending staff to other offices, which in turn makes alot of staff quit because they are being sent here there everywhere

If you have an agreement, then fire in a disagreement and go from there. You can't just blame the DOM, sometimes the rep has to their bit as well.

BUT they send 2 people to another office, where is the logic ?? is it bonus related ??

Never mind how many full timers your short how many have you got on the sick, our office of around 55-60 has got 11 on the sick and 5 on light duties.

Seems like a recurring theme .. increasing numbers of staff on long term sick .. a continuous stream of people coming back from operations /stress related absence and hence on light duties .. several walks lapsed as a matter of course on a daily basis regardless of traffic volume .. previously fit and robust posties dropping like flies .. it sounds melodramatic but it's becoming the norm .. and I don't just refer to the old timers who you might expect to struggle more with the increased physicality of the role .. the younger element in their 20's and 30's are just as likely to be affected .. I would love to know whether anyone is monitoring the data ( admittedly anecdotal based on threads like this one ) in long term sickness increase across the business at the coal face .. if they're not then they should be .. my guess is that the comparitive figures over the last two years would be horrendous !!!!

the cwu hq know what is going on in offices on a daily basis with all the tricks and b&h with doms but seem more interested in mr corbyn and the peoples post , and leave it to the office reps to sort out with no support from above and you have a man Bob gibson agreeing with everything r/m want to throw at us and he then uses the excuse to save jobs ,as he cant use tnt as an excuse anymore , utter bullshit as we all know , dave ward and his men need to sort this mess out asap before its to late.

None of the last 5 to have left have been replaced.

4 of those were full time and only 1 person has been made up in that time, 2 more were supposed to have been but that hasn't happened yet.

Most part timers have been doing full time hours for months.

2 ft vrs , 1 ft + 1pt ihr , 2 pt moved to another office , and at least 4 have just left none have been replaced and there next plan is to remove 3 deliverys out and try to add it to everybodys frame , so the doms will be mopping up everyday more than they do now

We have lost 5 guys in the last couple of months 3 ft 2 pt that I can think of, probably forgetting someone though. No one has been replaced or made up to f/t. They're throwing o/t at us.

Update, rumour has it THE AREA REP has just signed an agreement behind our backs that allows 17 part timers in the door, and cut our reserves from 16 to 12!

We're fully staffed . Ok, we're not but they just plug the gap by hiring agency staff at £13/hr (although the actual 'workers' get less than £7). How does the union react to this? They don't!
