Frames not fit for purpose?

Over the past few years, myself and most in my office, are struggling to fit the mail and parcels in/on the frame.

The slots are not wide enough for the mail, with the increase in magazines and catalogues, as well as the letters that are increasing (no matter what they tell us), I simply cant find them in the slots on the frame, im having to pile them up across my desk and try not to forget they are there.

Parcels are becoming a joke, I have 7 bays at the top of the frame, most days with the exception of monday and tuesday, they are jam packed with parcels and packets, pilled high and stacked next to the frame too, the office floor is taken up with peoples parcels everywhere, its such a hazard and getting worse. Mail and packets are increasing yet our infastructure is not

TBH I have seldom seen any frame packed to that extent, it must be a busy packets round! I put anything that goes through the letterbox in the frame, even if it's rammed in as I hate stopping for every tiddly packet when walking. True, some addresses (what I call 'serial junkers') get 1 or 2 inches of crap almost every day, but they are only usually 1 or 2 per frame.
All I can suggest is putting the large ones from each of the 7 sections in the small packets York and jotting a list down for the driver, or yourself if you are able to trolley them.

Its the frames that have double slots which are the worst. 6 or 7 d2d is enough to fill them! Also we are getting a lot of huge parcels lately (mainly tracked) which are getting stacked too high for some to reach! no sign of any h&s inspectors though, probably come round when we've all gone on delivery.

Parcels are stacked so high on my frame especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Had 120 parcels today on my frame and that wasn't including the small ones squashed into the frame.
Even brought 40 parcels back today docket left in 2 sacks and the DOM wonders why we cut off.
DOM was pleading with the postmen with all the cut offs that he had no one to cover but the plonker sent two of our staff to another office to help out this morning .
What's the logic or reason for that??

on average 10 to 20 parcels per loop for the walker and about 2 to 5 large parcels

Talking to someone in the know recently who said RM are looking at doubling up all slots and amalgamating two duties on one frame so it could be done by one person.

If only RM would invent a shrink ray, no worries about packets too big for letter boxes, just give it a blast and post it through!

Seriously though, you do have to wonder if they actually think things through, two duties amalgamated for one person? That'll be a pretty big shift for the poor sole who goes on it! (worst solo shift I've done is an HCT walk with ~700 calls on it - generally needing two drop bags of mail and packets for the last two loops to be dropped off at a box near the last two loops)

Bring it on, I'll use more duty time prepping what was previously two walks, work to my time and do well to deliver ~50% of the new frame.
