Good afternoon,
a guy in our office is leaving on ill-health retirement. He phoned the share line and was told he can't sell his shares until next year and will be taxed on them.
I told him I'm sure this wasn't right so called our area rep. He told me that they were wrong and that if you are a 'good leaver' and leave on the grounds of ill-health, that you can sell your shares straight away and they are tax free. He mentioned that he read this from section 4 of something from Royal Mail.
Can any of you guys point me to where this is stated and if this is true please. Also who does he get in touch with if he can because he didn't get anywhere with the shares hotline.
Thank you very much as always guys.
