Structural Changes in South & West Yorkshire Delivery

Royal Mail has announced they have finalised a number of structural changes affecting some DSM Areas within the Directorate and this has resulted in a DSM Sector being absorbed. In order to achieve the deployment of this re-structure some changes are required to take place around the Directorate.

The two sectors to amalgamate are Bradford and Huddersfield thus making the BD/HD sector one of the largest Delivery Sectors in the North Region. The BD/HD sector will account for 25% of the total Directorate and as such the impact it will have on the overall performance results of the South & West Yorkshire Directorate will be significant.

They are delighted to announce Steve McGuiness has agreed to bring his skills and experience to lead the newly formed BD/HD Area. Steve has a huge amount of delivery experience at all levels in Delivery from Delivery Sector Manager, Head of Delivery Performance and at Director Delivery Level and all will be required to lead this vital role to success for the Directorate.

As a result of the above and to ensure we have the right structure in place to deliver our goals in the second half of this financial year the additional changes will take place from week commencing 28th September 2015.



- Mick Duffy will take over as WF DSM

- Joe Stones will take over as HU DSM

- Andrew Sutton will continue as DN DSM

- Tim Bulmer will continue as LN DSM

- Nigel Smith – will continue as Sheffield South DSM

- John McCann – will continue as Sheffield North DSM

Dave Foster after serving, supporting and leading in Royal Mail from boy to man has decided he can now “hang up his boots” and leave the business. From a delivery postman in Bradford to Mail Centre Manager in Doncaster and York and on to Delivery Sector Manager in York and Wakefield.
