Amazon Delivery Scanned

Post by confusednewpostie »

Have people noticed the surge in this product, Amazon have went from almost zero traffic in my office to an abundance of Delivery Scanned items appearing now.
Few issues that we have noticed....
1: With no indoor scan in the morning, if the postie doesn't scan at handover to the customer, how will they know it ever arrived in the DO?
2: The current P739 has no tick box for the Delivery Scanned product, so posties are ticking tracked, and normal parcel, then if you dont have booking in tool yet, where do you store Delivery Scanned at the callers?
3: Rumor has it more companies are going to start using it, scanning every item coming soon?

1. They don't but they know when they sent it, so have a good idea when it should arrive with the customer http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... ed#p704016" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
2a. Other - include the scanned number.
2b. New system in there it tells them where to store it as far as I know. (In my office)
3. Its already been mentioned in places, high.

We treat them as normal packets, don't enter number on p739. As they only need scanning when actually delivered out on delivery or from the locker, we do have new booking tool, but have no knowledge of its workings.

We've been doing them for months and they get treated like Tracked when they go out, scanned at the doorstep and then P739'd if not in and returned to the office as a Tracked.
I wish RM would make clear and concise rules that can be easily followed instead of every office doing things differently.

We have an even more confusing system, they come into the office as a standard packet, scanned on doorstep as successful/undelivered, then they have to be scanned back into the office, on the SPS system they don't have to be scanned, and are entered into the system as a standard packet.

As far as I'm aware, we only scan the barcodes so that Amazon pay RM for delivering the items. It's not a tracking tool. Apart from that, they are just normal packets.
