Im a part timer. 5 hrs per day.
Walk is prepped for me starting.
D2Ds are not. My question is should they be prepared for me as when I have multiple D2Ds to collate prior to delivery it sets me back a fair bit an subsequently incurs overtime. Guidance on policy would be helpful as the mail volumes are picking up and Im struggling to absorb the extra workload. Thanks

You've 30 minute break (you knew that didn't you?) and roughly 15mins each way travelling time,depending on the area of course.
My figures say everything should be prepped and done,but i'm a nice guy.

Thanks for that. Ive only been taking a 20min break since I started a year and a half ago.
Is the break paid or unpaid ?
D2Ds have never been prepped.

as for the prepping of d2d unfortunately we can't give you a definite answer as all offices work differently, you could be working that 25 hours over 4 rather than 5 days etc or the delivery span in you office may be less than 4 hours, the best thing is to look at your duty 318, all duties have them (whether dom has hid them or not bothered printing them is another matter) the 318 will show exactly what your duty has been planned around and will show how many minutes prep you have or don't have, in my office 25 hour staff work over 5 days and only deliver, no prep at all, they come in load van and go etc

Cant really remember who said it was 20mins as it was so long ago but think that DOM didnt know and other staff said it may be 20.
Anyway will take 30 mins from now.
Will also ask for copy of 318.
Is 30 mins part of delivery span cos Ive been arguing about delivery span with manager. He says its 3.5 hrs. I say over 4.

D2D should only be prepped in if ur a 25hour contract, if ur a 30/31 hour then u prep ur own mail and d2d, with regards to ur break if ur 5 hour day u r only entitled to 25 mins I think, I may stand corrected if someone else knows better than I do, good luck

There is no set person who should and shouldn't do D2Ds. For instance a 20 contract could be over 5 days and I would expect theirs to be thrown in, but the same contract over 3 or 4 days may have enough time to do it themselves.

However, they should be done during paid time, so if you don't have enough hours to prep them on a given day then advise the manager and let them make the decision.

Any update on break. 20, 25 or 30 mins for a 5 hr day.
Would like to arm myself with correct info prior to round 2 with mgmt.

These are the official rules:

Attendance length............total breaks..... probable pattern

Less than 2 hours 30 minutes none (a 10 min grace break should be provided if work permits)
2 hours 30 to 3 hours................10 mins.................. 10
3 hours 1 to 3 hours 30..... .......15 mins....................15
3 hours 31 to 4 hours 59..... .......20 mins.................. 20
5 hours to 7 hours................... 30 mins...................30
7 hours 1 to 8 hours 59..... .......40 mins..............40 or 20 + 20
9 hours to 10 hours 59...............50 mins................30 + 20
11 hours to 12 hours 59..... .......60 mins............. 40 + 20 or 30 + 30
13 hours or longer..... ..............70 mins..................40 + 30

Bear in mind that if you do overtime, your break increases.

judging by this post it would seem that the D2D's should be done already. I say seem with caution as we may well not work at your office. Taking the 3.5 the DOM says and the 30 minute break plus other tasks and loading the van and acceleration to and from your delivery also signing stuff in leaves about 15 minutes, 30 at best.

Asked covering Dom if I could see 318 for my duty today. Guess what. Years out of date. Will ask real Dom tomorrow.
Had big barney today as had to make up 3 x 100 d2ds which meant I would be late back. Claimed anyway.
Are Doms able to just "doctor" a 318 or is there an official way of doing it.

There should be paperwork with regards to what revisions you have had and what the duties are,what their contents are ect.
Screws and union rep should each have a copy.

But at the end of the day,regardless,on heavyish days you're f****d.

Spoke to the real DOM today. What a surprise. Apparently they dont do 318s any more! Laughable if you ask me. How can you be held accountable for anything if there isnt even a written record of what a particular duty involves.
Any info on 318s would be helpful.

No RM don't do 318's now, but they do walk logs that have duty content and if you've had a recent revision, you should IPS time, prep time deliver time, travel time etc. For anyone who has been at RM for sometime all know what a 318 is.

Also have a look at your signing in sheet, most have start and out time. and return time.
