Unless sorting at a pt member of staff team all ft staff are on sorting till complete and pt frames complete, ft staff can only start on their frame when all pt staff frames are fully prepped

That would be awesome. My partners duty is never,ever prepped fully. On a busy day, more is left to do, and the FT still manages to get out early.

Resource to demand (coming to an office near you - if you don't already have it) means that we have 8 people sorting out of over 30 walks in our office. Computer says that's all we need! Sometimes we have less depending on sick absence. The rest of the staff are double prepping both full and part time walks. The computer tells us if it's going to be busy or not and how much staff we need on IPS. The computer is usually wrong

That's what happens in our office,the F/timers that are on double prep use that time to catch up on the gossip,drink tea and eat their snap only just managing to chuck 2 trays of mech out,not all of them tho to be fair.

Ours only do delivery full duty is tied and bagged for their start time, but every office is different some offices may have them prepping some of their duty some won't, it's all down to what's in the duty 318

3 or 4 on ours. Everyone else either double preps or stays off because they've moaned about their walks being too big (even though the actual figures from the sequencing machines have shown they get no more mail than average).

Some people in our office regularly take 3 hours each to prep a residential walk that the IWT says should take under 1.30. 2 trays of mech, a few handfuls of mail from ips and one packet bag shouldn't take anywhere near 3 hours!

Working day off OPGs been told to not do indoor work, to reduce their hours and pay.

Sometimes managers have not got staff begging to do cut offs on overtime, so walks that tend to struggle get told to concentrate on prepping.

Sometimes OPGs have to remind managers that some duties have pie in the sky 318 workloads, by doing their full quota of IPS etc. and then deciding if they want to cut off or claim overtime for delivering the final ~25% of the duty.

I go on the sorting when I am put on a walk I know well (reserve)......It just winds me up a lot of the full timers are stuck to their frame and are out the door as soon as the cage opens and the management just let them get on with it.

Depends what you mean by prepped fully? When you say fully prepped do you mean both mail and packets?

I hate it when you throw other walkes in and when it's time to go to your own frame hardly anything is done. Then you notice the walks you have thrown in get out before you have started your packets
