Does anyone know where you can find the documents and agreements made between the CWU and Royal Mail on Part-time posties doing a constant over 40 hours leading to entitlement of a full time contract.

Thanks, I have been doing 10 hours over my contracted hours for few years now and my contract has never been reviewed. so going to try and push for a review atleast or an increase in contracted hours.

2.7.7 The level of part time Employees’ contracted hours will be reviewed by the
Employer and the CWU locally on a six monthly basis. Where appropriate,
increased contracted hours will be offered to reflect the hours actually
worked and planned.

So since the recent Work Time Directive clarification, you have had 10 hours of overtime pay added to your weekly contract hours, for any annual leave weeks taken?

Personally Missmail I'd inform your local Rep and then when nothing happens (apologies to all Unit Reps who actually do a good job) go straight to your Area Rep and get them on board.

Although it says reviewed by Management on a six monthly basis I've never known that to happen. Your DOM makes too much out of the deal to make you up to FT. I even have a suspicion that when coming up to that six month point my DOM used to cut PTers back down to their contracted hours.....just to avoid this situation!

Bobby has been part time for 12 years but never works overtime. Billy has been a postman 2 years but has worked 40 + hours a week .

depends can both normally complete their duty in their contract hours if the answer is yes then the agreement won't apply.

However, even if Bobby has never done overtime and extra resources are required to complete his duty beyond those normally planned, then he may be able to get his hours reviewed as well.


Also seniority may not be applicable here because there is no vacant duty to for which the most senior applying get. There is only a change in contract hours. After all is it fair when I was the least senior in the office and applied for a FT duty and got it with an increased contract, when others more senior than I didn't

I don't think its a cheat around seniority, but it certainly is a grey area.

Is Billy boosting his contract hours by solely doing work on his duty, or is he boosting his overtime by doing other duty cut-offs, perhaps including Bobby's duty?

Is Bobby completing his duty on time, or is he choosing to only work his contract time everyday, cutting off on busier days?

To get a contract hour boost after 6 months, I believe the hours have to be solely for your own duty, but I might be wrong and probably am.
