His boss must use head and shoulders, both the bottled and figuratively. I am sure if a managers does the best for his staff, then it will be reciprocated and you get a happy and hard working workforce that will help out. Constantly telling them that they are not working hard enough, that they need to do more , that they aren't up to the job and its a performance issue, gets the opposite reaction. They also say when you find faults in others, that are actually yours reflected back at you.

I probably get a Saturday off every three months or so. Last Monday off was in February if I recall correctly.

I only have Sunday's off. Always work my day off (including saturdays).......docket!

I've said this to every reserve that comes to our little office, they never get a Saturday off

Also, they all seem to have Mondays or Tuesdays off, the so called lighter days (less hours)

In our place most walk holders are sympathetic to the cr@p modern reserves have to put up with but a few just give it the "Well we've all been there and done it" line but was being a reserve in the good old days as bad as it in the modern postal world ?

You need to work hard to earn the perks that come with seniority (Coming from a 24hr reserve).
