Kent offices win Healthy Business Award

Delivery offices in Kent have earned a prestigious new Healthy Business award for the work they have done to improve the health and wellbeing of their people.

Delivery offices in Rochester, Gillingham, Maidstone, Sheerness, Sittingbourne, Rainham, Chatham, Medway Valley and Faversham all received special recognition for their attendance management work from Kent and Medway Business Awards.

The winners attended a ceremony in Maidstone, where they received certificates from Graham Gibbens, Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health.

Rochester delivery office manager Gemma Jones, workplace coach Paul Mashiter, CWU health and safety representative Bal Basrai and health, safety and wellbeing advisor Brad Pettman, accepted the awards on behalf of the offices.

Positive change

The Kent and Medway Business Awards recognise workplace wellbeing programmes that aim to improve workforce productivity, reduce sickness absence and improve employee engagement.

Gemma Jones, programme lead, says: ‘My delivery sector manager Fred Vincent and I identified five major issues with our attendance management strategy and worked closely with local and area health and safety representatives, the CWU and workplace coaches, to address them.’
