Is this now the norm?

We have just had a new revision in which one third of the walks was taken out for the part-timers to pick before the full timers picked theirs, the walks that were taken out were what you would call senior walks ,so we now have a situation where part timers who have been here for 1 year have senior walks, and posties with 10 years are now holiday subs, before any one says that it's sour grapes, I am part time and like a few others we don't think it's fair, has this happened in any other office.

That's exactly what has happened in my office. Any full time staff who has served roughly less than 13 years has dipped out on being able to sign for a duty.

I think it varies from depot to depot, at some the 3-day PT staff are day off cover for three FT duties, while two 4-day PT duties are covered by another 4-day PT.

I didn't think any walks could be classed as "senior", we are told the only difference between a PT walk and FT walk is the indoor workload.

I would imagine most of our senior posties get the pick they want, hardly any seem to move from one re-sign to the next.

If your not happy about it then simply get your rep to lodge a stage 1 disagreement over it and then follow the ir process through to the end
