Do the job properly, use the the equipment and deliver to neighbours, fills the day probably won't have enough time to do your own walk let alone the lapsing. Any problems email Moya

reading the post, you are struggling to get done but you are getting done within your time.
Is it standard practice? yes it is for those who display the capacity to accept an extra workload.
You get hassle from the DOM. Why? What else do you need to do with this spare time, spare time that RM pay for.
Do you think job and finish still exists? Job and finish has performed its task and the business knows how much time was being paid for and not worked, now we work to our time.

My union has outlined in agreement after agreement how our job should be done.
My union has exlaianed that if it is done in this fashion there is less chance of fatigue.
My union has never asked me to cut corners, or rush.
If, as was previously posted, we do the job properly the time will or won't exist. Of this there can be no argument.

If you are actually able to throw off three duties and double lapse, while still managing to complete your own duty (although at a struggle) I would suggest that your original duties need to modified! :hmmmm

What you are admitting is IF you had two less duties to prep and there was no lapsing........ You'd be finished well early. I'm surprised your DOM hasn't simply made those duties larger to make use of all the hours.

How long were you actually doing the "Old" Duties for before the DOM added all the extra indoor work and the double lapsing?

The subject of Lapsing has been raised many times on this forum, so has Bullying & Harassment by managers. :no no
You only have to Lapse IF you can complete that lapsing inside your scheduled hours. Just tell your Manager you won't have the time to lapse or you're going to go over your finish time. At this point he may well offer you overtime to do it. Then it's up to you if you want to be paid to do it. :hmmmm

As for your Manager threatening your colleague with dismissal that is Bullying. :no no I expect you'll tell us your Rep is not very effective. If you've already approached your Rep (with no joy) contact your Area Delivery Rep and put your concerns to him. Your colleague needs to sort his situation....perhaps just a word with the DOM saying, "I feel that your bullying me into Lapsing"! Sometimes the mere mention of the "B" word is enough to make them wind their necks in. :speak to the hand

If you read many of the posts on here you'll see that most Delivery Offices are suffering from the incompetent Management style of most DOMs. Most of the time their own Bosses don't know what's going on in your DO, so don't be afraid to raise Grievances with the CWU Area Rep....who will take it up with the Area Managers. Sometimes they'll tell their own Minions to get a grip and get it sorted out. Good Luck. :thumbup

If you can throw in three walks and lapse and finish on time there is something seriously wrong.

Have you had your revision yet?

Do you have to do the D2Ds as well? If you came in on your time and throw off 2 d2ds and then completely throw off 2 walks and still finish within your contratual time (plus lapse) then your duties are too small...

it seems as though there may be work being done that is not being counted.
I and we don't know cause we don't work there but if i was to guess i'd say people come in early, don't take their breaks and rush around whilst out on delivery cutting all sorts of corners and possible use their own vehicles. The alternative could be that previously you had a good rep and now you have the reverse if you even have a rep at all.
Suggestion.
Have a meeting with the members ponint out the failings.
See where that gets you.
If you have had your revision your rep will have abided by national agreements in their design and construction, some your colleagues on the other hand may now think job and finish and probably wouldn't know how long their duty took if their life depended on it. Too many i'm alright jacks ruling the roost and making work a dire experience for the rest. These are the same people who wouldn't think twice about pointing you out and saying look they do that. All so as they can do their own thing. i know, i work with them. Most important though is i don't stand for it. Mini rant over!
