Can a manager buy leave?
Are manager allowed to buy leave, or are they automatically entitled to extra leave? We have a new manager that seems to be off all the time, but has only been with the business a few years?

If he is fairly new they'll be sending him on all sorts of development courses. However, I have no idea if they get extra leave, or if they can get POAL like we do.

Some areas allow managers to accrue toil so by working extra hours he may be bulking up his leave allowance

Yes there is a sliding scale process though,
1.'encourage' someone to take their lapsing although they haven't got time = 1 day.
2. 'Accidentally' pay less overtime than Postie's have booked = 2days.
3. Successfully get someone back off sick and on to full duties before they've even recovered = an extra week !
