New Angard Rep
Have been mulling this over all week,l had a shift last week and talking to other people found out that one of the angard workers gets a call at the weekend to get people in and of course that person rings around all the same people.Think lve heard it all now.

That's a bit naughty!
And lazy arse management are taking the piss.
Now in your situation you could always try to have a word with the managers there and tell them what's happening, but if you think it won't go anywhere you could always grass.

If you're worried I can do it for you if you send me all the details.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: New Angard Rep
Thanks for your advice, but there's no point speaking to the managers because there the ones allowing this person to do it,so many people have left because they hadn't had shifts where as other people have had most of the shifts, angard don't want to know because its at the weekend,if only they were to look at the hours people are getting then they would see the unfairness. Why should certain people get it all just because there in with the right people whilst others get nothing. I'm managing to cling on, l know angard casuals won't be here forever but l hope things will change and stop this, but I won't hold my breath!

Re: New Angard Rep
At our place Angard don't have any say who gets. Weekend shift. I assume it's the same everywhere? It's down to the weekend manager. Angard aren't open Afeter 10pm on a Friday. Manager has his faves in and why would he not if they know the job and get it done. There will always be favourites and nepotism everywhere you work, I bet you wouldn't be offering your shifts to others if you were a fave who got shifts every weekend?
PS no I'm not in At the weekend. I work Friday nights so can't work again till 8pm Saturday and we don't do Saturday nights here, and Sunday' nights are tracked only.

Re: New Angard Rep
I used to work weekends until a certain person took over and l worked hard. My gripe is that an angard casual shouldn't be selecting who comes in. There's enough hours on angard for the needy but not for the greedy.

not strickly true ,the office is closed but shifts normaly given out on friday .if extra are needed theres a list for the reeds weekend office to pick from.managers on site can choose people who work in skilled areas.dazg wrote:At our place Angard don't have any say who gets. 1 other thing to consider is ,the people been chosen are normaly the people who get on with job.not in a managers interst to pick usless staff.so if your not 1 of the chosen few ,take a look at self and ask would i pick me.
for example how would you feel if you worked on site for years and people who had not, started getting all the shifts .not very happy am sure.
ive been at my site for years and im expected to show new starters how to go on
