Post by Ricardo44 »

Just been browsing through my tv mag and noticed there's a program on wednesday night BBC 2 at 9pm..Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Inside the post office.

First of a series of 3..should be worth a look :hmmmm

Indeed but people are so ignorant - even BBC execs - that I wouldn't be surprised if they named a docu about Royal Mail 'Inside the Post Office'.

Watched it, very interesting and you can see the distress on the part of the Postmasters, for some its like a bereavement for the loss of a way of life, for others resignation to the their fate, you can also see the issues at HQ meeting relating to the potential loss of government subsidies and having to make up the differences.

If they did a TV documentary about my delivery office it would be like a " Carry on " film . More and more packets esp tracked everyday, staff not being able to complete in the normal working day, so they just come in even earlier. You couldn't make it up. :arrrghhh

J Dale - sorry boss, I was just telling her about my Special Delivery.
Williams - Nevermind that, now stop chatting and get back to putting them letters in the slots.
Babs - Tee hee heee!
Williams - MISS! Please try to control yourself!
Babs - sorry Mr Williams, it's just you were talking about putting things into slots that's all!
Williams (walks off) Well I never, the sort of staff we are getting these days.

Babs (goes up to Locker/cage) - Hi, I've been sent to see if you've got anything for me?
Sid James - Phwooor! I'll say! How do you fancy a quick one?
Babs - Ooooo I bet you say that to all the girls!!!
Sid James - Is that a yes then?
Babs - Sure, why not, I've got the time if you've got the money.
Sid James - Great, here's 50p out of the petty cash, don't tell the boss.
Babs - 50p?! I couldn't even get a packet of crisp out the vending machine in the canteen for that!
Sid James - Alright, alright, here's 50p and an Amazon packet - lucky dip love, it could have anything in it that could, and it's all yours!
Babs - Ooo what a nice man! I'll come again!
Sid James - I hope so! Ka Ha HA HA HA.

Sequel is about Royal Mail management training...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
