Colleagues at Lichfield delivery office in Staffordshire improved their engagement score by 15 points in this year’s Employee Survey.
Delivery office manager Amandeep Kaur, who joined the team in November, said he started making small, incremental changes straight away.
Last year the engagement score was 45, but this year it has jumped to 60.
Amandeep said: ‘The change has been consistent since the end of last year. It’s not one big thing, but a change in culture where everyone is treated with respect.’
Part of the cultural change has included a greater degree of input from colleagues and suggestions on how to improve ways of working are given consideration.
Part of the cultural change has also seen the delivery office manager form a better relationship with the union representative.Amandeep said: ‘It’s about treating people as I would like to be treated.’
Action plan deadline
All teams should now be developing their action plans based on the employee survey results. Managers should upload plans to the online reporting tool Archway by Friday 31 July.
