Currently doing overtime for this week. Start at 7, finish aroun 3/4 its very tiring!

We have a guy at our depot he works from 6.25 to about 6.30 most days, cancels his holidays to do o/t, even comes in on his holidays to do o/t, I don't think his family know who he is anymore, terrible... Kids must think there's orphans.

Mine was earlier in the year, March 2nd.

Worked a few 14 or 15 hour shifts at Christmas way back in the day when stamps were cheap and people sent loads of cards. Late 90's / early 2000's the week before Christmas we started at 7am, got out of the office around 11am (remembering at that time special deliveries had to be done by 12!! So it was race around like a blue arsed fly to get them done.) and finally finish around 8pm, back to the office where the local cards would have been sorted and needed prepped for the next day. Some of this was still when we were working a six day week!! Looking back I don't know how or why we even did it. I suppose the money was the big draw, and it was 15+ years ago so I was much younger and less wise!!

Years ago at Paddington mail centre,did a late shift stayed on to do a night shift on o/t then did a walk on Sat morning which was part of my duty,which was about 20hours in all.There was one guy at Paddington who stayed in the office for three days catching a kip every now and then,his wife even brought in food and changes of clothing for him.In those days (35+years ago) that was the norm for a lot of posties,plus double time was handy then.

Christmas weeks, 6am to 6pm everyday

14 hrs is our longest possible day. 0600 - 1400 on a walk then till 2000 covering the callers on a Wednesday. Done that a few times. Once did it all on OT.
Sounds a bit week after some of these stories

Yep,turned out I had,plantar fascitis,nerve damage,arthritis and was on painkillers,anti depressants and beta blockers...

Kept asking management for atos but u know the answer....so I went off and retired eventually.

On delivery, 6.45 to 3pm. Though I used to work loads of nights at Christmas so double shifts, I once did 95hrs in a week (well I got paid for 95, that was around 10 years ago when Christmas meant finishing on delivery for 11am at the latest).
