i have been overpaid in this weeks payslip, should i tell the DIM or let them figure out their own mistake?

Perhaps the DOM has a conscience and has paid you back for what he underpaid you in O/T previously

They don't usually notice, keep your mouth shut and you'll be fine. If they do find out just say you didn't notice as you never check, you'd have to pay it back but you will pay it back if you tell them.

A friend of mine, some years ago, went part time ( she worked in a mail centre ). A few months later, with Xmas approaching she was asked if she would revert to full time for the Xmas pressure. She said no thanks. Come Xmas they paid her 2 weeks full time. I told her not to say anything, and it was never reclaimed.

Think how you DIM feels, being overpaid on EVERY payslip!!

Somebody will be missing their overtime and you've probably got it! Happened to me except I was the one who missed out, I noticed and it was taken out of the other persons wages a few weeks later!

My own personal recommendation is to tell the Manager soonest. IF you can afford to pay it back now, it'll be better than if you can't afford when/if they do.

A workmate was overpaid allowances every week for a year, about £40 per week. He never said anything and I don't think it was ever noticed, it was years ago.

knowing you have been overpaid and keeping quiet about it is dishonest. best to let them know soonest before you spend it

Knowing managers are not always as efficient as they should be, I would ring HR and tell them, you think there maybe a mistake in your pay. If there is you have to pay it back, if there isn't, result. Anything else is dishonest. Sorry, no room for dishonesty in this job, tarnishes everybody.

How much was you overpaid, if its a lot it may be picked up. I've been overpaid for a whole rest day 7.48 as it was missed, i spoke to my manager who said speak to the bloke incharge of payroll. I best guess was they both added it and i got double pay. Nothing was ever said but if it was maybe double it might have been picked up later.

LIke others have mentioned, I hate dishonesty in this job. So if your manager has deliberately underpaid your overtime to the tune of fifty quid and you find yourself fifty quid to the better in your wages this week, consider it karma.
