VR 12 Week Notice Period

Would I have to work my 12 week notice period if I accepted Voluntary Redundancy ?

You have a choice of working the full 12 weeks notice, working 6 weeks and waiving 6 weeks, or waiving the whole 12 weeks.
If you waive part or all of the notice you won't get paid for those weeks.

Edit: Well that was what I was offered when I took VR. I worked the 12 weeks which gave me an extra week's AL, and I had a week sick.

two women took it from ours at the back end of march this year. they were given 12 weeks notice but were told they didn't need to work it. its classed as P.I.L.O.N as far as im aware

was there not an agreement between rm and cwu that you didn't have to work the 12 weeks notice period if you signed for vr before the end of march. or maybe it was just rm who made tat offer.

Yes. RM were offering PILON (Pay in lieu of notice) for the VRs they were offering at the beginning of the year, if they were processed before 25 March. Not being offered now though afaik.
