Dear Colleagues,
Last year CWU members overwhelmingly voted to retain the political fund and our voice in politics. We now need to make sure that this is heard.
If you pay the political levy you are entitled to vote in the Labour Leadership elections but you need to register as an affiliated supporter by 12th August 2015 in order to do so.
In standing to be General Secretary I have made it clear that the Labour Party will not continue to get something for nothing from the CWU and that our relationship with the party needs to change.
We have to originate policies that advance our members’ interests and start to change the balance of forces in society and the world of work.
The prospect of a Tory government attacking trade union rights, selling off Royal Mail and standing by as agency workers are exploited in a race to the bottom underlines the need for an opposition that is on our side.
The Labour leadership elections are a first step towards securing this.
You can have YOUR say by clicking on the link below and filling in the simple form.

Yours Sincerely
Dave Ward
CWU General Secretary

LABOUR LEADERSHIP
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Can't remember where I saw it whether it was a LTB or on the CWU sight, you could put your vote in, but had to agree to allowing them to use your address as they wanted - I don't mind delivering crap but would rather not have it delivered to myself.

Re: LABOUR LEADERSHIP
Filled out the form above. I would have thought they would have needed to authenticate/validate your CWU membership at some stage (?).
Anyhow, does anyone know what happens next and when ? When will I get to cast a vote ?

They do, the CWU will validate that your are both a member of the CWU and the Political fund that makes you a Labour Party member. Then sometime in August (the cut off is around 13 Aug IIRC) they will send oout voting forms.
