Hello is there a national agreement regarding times post people should runa css machine. In Nottingham Mail Centre where running 6 css with 12 staff , 2 hours on and 2 hours off. 5 days a week. They are looking at running 6 css with only 6 staff running 2 hours on then stop the machine for 20 minutes and then carry on for 2 hours.

I work in an MPU. We have 3 operators for 2 machines, who rotate after doing 1-2 batches. We spend roughly an hour and a bit on the machines, depending on batch size and half that time wheeling out yorks, checking in mail, unloading lorries, sorting, etc.

We found that the 2 hour thing didn't work in an MPU as there wasn't enough 'other work'.

Why are you only working 5 nights?

There is a Sunday operation but mostly its run on the night shift.
But somewhere out there is an agreement when these css where installed. Who's got a copy ?
