We still don’t know what RM’s real intentions are, now we hear that Cofely doesn't want to buy RM's share and the contract is extended 1 more year. What's behind this? Apparently the negotiations will carry on over the summer so maybe the CWU could keep us informed? Quite frankly, 1-yr more or less, what’s the difference? We’ll still have to fight RM/Cofely/whoever, for what we need!
JOBS EX-EC-UTED
What a nightmare on EC night shift last week, trying to clear the job with a badly cut-down workforce… we're now 12 on EC nights and mates on EC3 are down to 2! If RM refuses to replace mates going on EVR, soon there’ll be nothing but mice left down here! The thus unsequenced and undeliverable mail and packets will be covered with little black drops…

What’s this rumour that the agreement on our Ts&Cs with RM will be extended from 2018 to 2019? Simply that we have an additional year to prepare for an inevitable battle?
CAPITAL VERSUS LABOUR
Indeed, who knows what situation RM will be in by that time? Its shares are riding high still – but in 2019? Even if profits are made, the big shareholders will be out for our blood. That's the way they make even more, after all.

So another worrisome rumour is the closure of Greenford and the removal of work to PRDC. Who knows? Why then bring Greenford mates to train on the machine which is being taken over there?
ANOTHER BIG COSTLY FLOP?
We were surprised to see that (finally) RM has found a (Datalogic) packet-sorting machine,investing over £20m in one each for 20 offices. Given the variation and higgledy-piggeldy nature of the parcels which arrive for sorting, we really wonder how these machines will fare. Obviously the aim is to have less workers, but with all the problems that come with RM's version of "automation" we wouldn't be surprised if they have to take on more…
HAS ANYONE ANY ANSWERS?
What are the big lorries supposed to do these days? Already we have to make a big and awkward turn to get to the main entrance in Farringdon Road, but what’ll happen when the Mount development takes place and we can't get out? Is there a plan afoot to transfer a lot of MP work to that brand new (big) N1 office???
WE DON’T COME TO WORK TO GET HURT
We heard that one of the engineers was repairing a shower in the gym when suddenly the water pressure blew out one of the parts which struck him. He ended up with a bad cut in the neck… Now RM is trying to deflect the responsibility to the company that produces the showers… Well, whoever pays, our mate needs his compensation and certainly RM better not try to deflect any blame onto him!
WE DON’T WANT TIPS!
So, we’ll be getting a bonus at the end of this month, 31 July (14.3p a share), and we’re told we’ll get between £40 to £64 next month… On top of this, the famous shares will add "around £104 as a final dividend payment on 31 July 2015. (…) Eligible part-time employees will receive a dividend based on their pro-rata allocation of Free Shares." Is this what RM thinks will replace proper wages, particularly for mates on part-time?

We are fed up to the teeth with the Romec manager. First, when it comes to unprofessional behaviour + rudeness (we all know about a small jumbo-ette in the room), he takes the prize. In fact, no more jokes about elephants, we are going to have to take action…
WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE'S FOOLING?
As for the other Romec boss, she was lying through her (former) trunk when she said “it wasn’t me!” during an investigation into her over-the-top instructions to cleaners expecting us to clean every speck of dust while short of hands. Is this the same manager who took photos of the outside door ledge, to prove there was dust on it? The one with the magnifying glass? Honestly?!
WE REMEMBER "THE WAY BACKWARDS"
One thing in the recommendation from the CWU to vote Ray Ellis for DGS and the 3 exec candidates, was really not OK! It says we must make sure we vote, as "the Tory government are putting in new laws to stop Trade Unions from having a voice. This is down to the apathy of members." Blaming us? The Tories are just making their usual attack on workers! If members are apathetic isn't it due to a long history of union leaders refusing to organise any proper offensive to regain the ground we’ve lost?
