goodwill has all but gone
Managers shafting the posties, no more favours I'm afraid.
Cutting hours to 5 hours a day and then having no staff to throw off your round.
Managers bundling up the lapsing and putting it in your van before you leave.
Manager ringing up a postie the afternoon his father dies in the morning and asks him if he is coming in tomorrow.
Managers manipulating figures , management throwing off walks and sorting packets and putting D2D's in frames anything to get the workforce out the door
encouraging no meal break and coming in early

What did your rep say about it when you asked him to put a stage 1 disagreement in about the managers doing postie work?

I don't understand. Why hasn't 'goodwill' left the building long ago. I mean, when was the last time that Royal Mail did anything good for it's workers?

I've read your previous posts.future_RM wrote:And yet you are all still here.DirtyHarry wrote:I don't understand. Why hasn't 'goodwill' left the building long ago. I mean, when was the last time that Royal Mail did anything good for it's workers?
The reality is RM is a very good paying employer with a good pension scheme and good sick pay. Posties that bitch like to think back to the good old days where they were back home by 11:00. Times have changed, there is more competition and you are now expected to work the hours you are paid for. Get over it or get another job.
Your not really worth a reply.

Because he makes valid points, people don't mind working until their finish time but many of us can't complete our ridiculous work load and would prefer not to be harassed about it.

We are doing that anyway, its just that its making the office look more efficient than it actually is for them to lapse even more roundsslinder123 wrote:our area rep says you need the backing of your men to stop the managers doing postmans work the men did not back him because the manager said he would make them all come back and sign out on time end off story

Get another job? I wish to God that I could. Must be great living in your bubble where it's always the 1960s/70s,and jobs are plentiful, and working for Royal Mail isn't the painful pile of utter dog s**t that it unfortunately is now.future_RM wrote:And yet you are all still here.DirtyHarry wrote:I don't understand. At a guess I would say zero, you look at the minimum wage that other unskilled jobs pay, crap pension and no sick pay and you decide to stay where you are in your cushy little job.
I see your a manager, im not sure if you know this, but there is another manager cull, 2000 more managers to be laid off,, hope its not you..

Showing great motivational skills there Mr Future. Perhaps you should see if you could get dignitas onto your CV, perhaps they'll feel better knowing there is a better option than death.

Cutting hours to 5 hours a day and then having no staff to throw off your round. So throw your own walk off, then tell the manager you wont be able to complete because of the time.
Managers bundling up the lapsing and putting it in your van before you leave.a) Pretend you didn't see it. b) don't deliver it if it means going over, c) Give it back to the manager telling him you wont have time to deliver it.
Manager ringing up a postie the afternoon his father dies in the morning and asks him if he is coming in tomorrow. Put in a B&H complaint, better still block his number
Managers manipulating figures , management throwing off walks and sorting packets and putting D2D's in frames anything to get the workforce out the door
encouraging no meal break and coming in early. Manipulation of figures isn't your problem, complain to the Rep about managers doing posties work, if he does nothing get on to area to remove him and vote a bloke in who will, as for meal breaks, if you have proof this, the manager is breaking the law, you are by law entitled to breaks, get at least one witness to every conversation, get other colleagues to doughnut the manager when he is talking to anyone and voices are raised, it's done wonders in our office, they are very careful what they ask, and what they tell you to do now.
