First out the traps is Syed Ali a PFW driver (a what?) from London NW dept. Got a year in chokey for each of the mobile phones he STOLE. Like they are hard to trace. And the firm are after more than TWENTY THOUSAND QUID from him under the Proceeds of Crime Act.. So ten grand and a year in nick for each one he PINCHED. Both of them. Well worth it was it stupid?

Belangeni Musumbu an ex employee (wonder why?) of Finchley DO also has two years-maybe in the same cell as the other pillock-after LYING about injuries caused by a road accident at work. Got medical retirement and was paid TWENTY FOUR GRAND. Not any more he isn't.

Hussein Aden an OPG from Brinklow DO. Just couldn't keep his sticky little fingers off bank mail which he used for fraud, as well as cards and PIN numbers. Which he then sold on. Got 13 months which is nowhere near long enough. And get this, he admitted selling the cards but DENIED fraud. So he's a THIEF but not a LIAR?
Oh that's alright then.

Now. As you can all see from this months felony fun parade these are all foreign sounding names. ANY HINT of racism in response to this the whole thing ends immediately. This is to highlight the bad buggers only not to wave a green flag to anyone with certain 'views'.

So any concerns. Anyone you think is on the nick. The Keystone Kops are interested. Any concerns about security at all. Call the feds on....

This pre-emptive strike is unnecessary. Two months ago? all 3 or 4 had British surnames. As long as they were all severely rogered for their dishonesty that's all that matters.

This does bring to mind comments regarding an episode of 'Crimewatch UK' a few years ago. The 8 most wanted in the serious crimes 'rogues gallery' were all, shall we say, of non-Anglo Saxon ethnicity. Comments were aimed at the oh-so-right-on BBC by some quarters of the media about the possibility of inflaming racism. The next month alongside the 7 non-white paedophiles, rapists, gun offenders, stabbers etc. was a sole pale face carrying the can for the poor under-represented white criminals. That in itself raised no eyebrows, but when I saw the details of the horrendous offence he had been filmed committing, I almost fell out of my chair laughing - he had entered a store, talking loudly to no-one in particular and walked out with a computer so onlookers would think he was supposed to be removing it.

The most insulting bit of 'ethnic placement' I have seen. My point is that things like this are incidental, and should the 8 worst wanted criminals be black or white or Asian or whichever then they are the 8 that should be shown. The same goes for the Courier 'Court in the Act' section.

To deliberately (like the BBC did) trawl up stuff based on simply the colour of the perp is plain wrong and insulting to ALL races.

Why mention it then, if you think some kind of racial inference will be drawn by correspondents on this forum? We don't need to draw any conclusions, one way or another, they have been through the process,justice is blind after all. Who cares what race anyone is,all it does is put the rest of us,who work honestly , under some kind of suspicion,regardless, that is the real issue,not race.

I think he was anticipating the 'what a surprise!' type of comment or 'hey for a diverse workforce!' etc. which would then start a heated debate which would inevitably create flaming and warnings or possibly posts considered unlawful. I do agree though that had it NOT been mentioned then it's likely nobody would have posted about it..

Looking at the Courier the past year, I'd say that the ethnicity of bent RM employees pretty much matches pro-rata the workforce overall. It's easy to get the wrong perspective if you work in a 90-100% white office and then read the names in this month's Courier, while forgetting some urban DO's are majority non-white so they could just as easily in those DO's be commenting negatively on the 'English' names in another edition of the Courier.

I should have said I am not the author, I merely cut and pasted it after a request to do so.

However, I left the comment in about race as its a fine balancing act. If I don't warn people someone always brings race into it and eventually we have to delete the thread. But if I warn people then i get complaints about lack of free speech or that I shouldn't pre-warn people.

On balance I'll go for the pre-emptive warning in most cases, especially if it means less chance of members getting banned or disciplined for something posted on here in the heat of the moment.
