In our office at present there is hardly a day goes by without a Manager urging us to deliver (leave with a neighbour) all tracked items even to the extent when on arrival back at the office we are asked did we get rid of them all what's that all about...

Within the next year or so all parcels will have to be scanned both in DOs and MCs

We are told to bring parcels [2nd class] back when we cut off despite telling manager they are covered by the USO.

All these tactics are used by manager to maximise the amount of tracked that are delivered first time.
It may well be something to do with their bonus, I'm not sure.
every office is expected to reach 95% FTD first time delivery for all parcels. Of course the tracked items are easy to work out.
This is why managers are desperate to have as few tracked returns as possible.

For us it is very simple,

Follow instructions from your gaffa, what he really wants you to do is take risks with tracked items, leaving items where we shouldn't etc. just stick to the rules, if they don't want you to scan it if there is no answer just give the items back when you return to office. Then it is their problem.

NEVER TAKE RISKS it not worth it
