Call and collect customers

I hope someone out there can help
At our D.O. we deliver all parcel force parcels along with Royal mail parcels.
In the past our call and collect customers picked up all parcels including,
parcel force items when they came to the callers office.
Today we have been told that we have to take out and attempt delivery
of the parcel force items even, though we know the customer doesn't
want to have mail/parcels delivered to their door that's why they have a call and collect!
Can someone tell me if the call and collect only relates to royal mail services and not parcel force???

Call and Collect mean ... call and collect .. ( no delivery attempt should be done ).. if they do not collect then after 18 days RTS.... and that's it .....and by the way we ( our office ) do not handle Parcel Force item.

Yes ...understand about call and collect, but we have been told it does not apply to parcel force items as they are not royal mail products and we must attempt delivery to the customers door even though they are not in .In some cases they do not even have letter boxes

Our sector is deemed highland and islands so parcel force items have always gone out with royal mail.

remember the sender is the customer not the recipient delivery should be attempted, (in this instance the recipient is also a customer of royal mail but we are not delivering it as part of royal mail) the delivery company that the customer has selected is parcel force, and that product should then be delivered under the specifications of that product.

parcelforce do not offer a call and collect service like royal mail do and as such when delivering on behalf of parcelforce we need to attempt delivery.

The customer may prefer that a delivery attempt is made in the first instance, we have no way to tell and shouldnt assume that they would want it held at the delivery office for the recipient to collect instead. yes it may be beneficial to the recipient but at the end of day it may not be what the customer the sender wants as such we attempt delivery then hold it in callers office if necessary, if the recipient is not happy about that then you should direct them to the sender who chose to send via parcel force

Just a normal sized one, our Parcel Force stuff arrives in Yorks on a 600 with all our other mail.


i work in an office with more rural duties than walks.
