Part timers start times

Are there any part timers out there who start at the same as full timers in their office? Our new Dom is saying he wants to start us half hour later than the full timers. Are start times agreed locally?

Yeah, in our place most of the part timers start at the same time as full timers, and then are usually expected to cram a full-time day into their part-time hours. They do get paid if they go over, but not when they don't obviously.

If they are in a van share with a full timer then surely they'll be back at the same time as a full timer, what happens if they want to just work their hours, do they get brought back early to office? Why don't they work a part timers hours back from the finishing time?

I'm afraid that I have never known a part-timer not to carry on to the end and finish at the same time as the full-timer, just booking the extra. Maybe it happens, but if so no big deal is made of it, I've never heard it mentioned anyway.

I imagine our office is different in structure to many others. There are practically no 'part-time rounds', as such, only full-time ones, and only the very newest new reserves are on part time hours, almost everyone else (with a few old-timer exceptions) is full time.

* edit: Also, there aren't many van shares, it's mostly deep rurals out here.

I'm not kidding, I can think of around 7 van share duties that have part timers, and those part timers have 7 different 'official' start times. What time they actually start is up to them, some use their knowledge of the duty to tweak their start time. For example, 'Jimmy's' start time is after his partner has left the building so he comes in earlier.

I think the various times are just plucked out of thin air.

We have Part timers starting on P/L rounds who start 2 hours later than the full timer. The full timer doesn't go up on the IPS and throws off the Part timers round after his.
Never works as some days the round is thrown off ready and sometimes not. Its a right cock up just to save the DOM 1 and a half hours a day off the budget

No PT start at the same time as FT in our office, we work back from finish time so the P&L finish at same time, we've got a few PT who only work their hours mainly 28 hours, it's up to management to sort this out. If RM insist on messing people about, then they will have people who only work to time, of course these people have been called in for a 'chat' but as they take the rep in as well, it generally goes no further.

We probably have more part time than full time in our office . Aswell as some full timers most come in before their time and take NO BREAKS ( yes more fool them) but surely it's cooking the books to higher up as this work is not being done with the proper hrs and management no it. Wo can't our union do something about it ?

In out office we - 3 full timers - start at 7:40am and the part-timer starts at 9:30

2 full timers on one p&l

1 full time and the part timer on the other p&l

This is happening at our place as well, we have full timers starting at 07.15 and some part timers starting at 08.00 but some p/t starting at 07.15 it's the last group that have been told they will have to start at 08.00. The reason for the change is because the miss sort run is sometimes late thus causing dead time ie people standing around doing nothing and then cutting off. Our area rep advises that p/t's should have the same finish time as f/t's so as Geordieboy123 asks are the start and finish times agreed locally? Also should we be able to disagree with the change as it is change of contract which has to be agreed by both parties?
