Redelivering a Special...
I reckon after a first delivery attempt then this Item has met its compliance, if the customer asks for it to be redelivered the next day then you can just deliver it when you get there, even after 1pm.
Would I be right in thinking this?

No, it would still be a failure if delivered after 1pm.simply_the_best wrote:I reckon after a first delivery attempt then this Item has met its compliance, if the customer asks for it to be redelivered the next day then you can just deliver it when you get there, even after 1pm.

Re: Redelivering a Special...
I cant understand this as we get conducted if we have an out of date redirection on our frames as you are providing a service that the customer hasnt paid for yet the first day you get a special and cant deliver that service should expire, however we get told that we have to deliver before 1 still

Re: Redelivering a Special...
Doesn't make sense that the customer is effectively getting a 'by 1pm on the day of your choice' service for no extra cost. If it's being redelivered then it's probably already missed its deadline by several days. I think the only reason is that the PDAs don't know if it's a redelivery or not, so after 1pm it automatically comes through as a fail.matta wrote:I cant understand this as we get conducted if we have an out of date redirection on our frames as you are providing a service yet the first day you get a special and cant deliver that service should expire, however we get told that we have to deliver before 1 still

Re: Redelivering a Special...
As far as I know redelivery Specials do not have a 1pm time limit

Why would it?
I remember years ago confirming callers cards on the old track and trace guns and any collected Specials were scanned as a recorded item!!

Depends on the office then as in ours anything that comes out the locker has a 1pm deadline redelivery or not, love the foreign specials too where you can see the value of the item and they are about £1

Thats really the point of my thread, trying to get the definitive answer to this simple action, personally I think its a next day 1pm and if the customer isn't there to receive it then we've done what's been paid for.

Re: Redelivering a Special...
I think it really depends on how your office staff have scanned it.

what diffrence does it actually make? if your dom wants it done before 1pm on a redelivery or not thats his decision it at the end of the day he could do it with any item doesnt need to be a special, if he instructs you to break of to deliver a certain packet at a certain time thats entirely his decision

Re: Redelivering a Special...
You don't have to redeliver the special before 1pm. It's already gone through the system as attempted delivery and that the customer has been left a card to collect it. If they want it redelivered thats O.K. but it's not a "before 1pm" delivery, and if it's scanned/signed after 1 it will not show as a failure on the system.
For example, if you had left a card to collect a special at your office and the customer was away on holiday for a week, when they sign for it, it doesnt trigger a failure.
In short, you don't need to redeliver a special before 1pm, but if your DOM wants you to...........

Re: Redelivering a Special...
While this is correct, a Special for redelivery does not technically have to be scanned before 1pm and technically it will show as a failure. Just a ballache for doms to sort out when the failed report comes through, but they are not failures. The reason that a Special scanned at the office being collected by customer doesn't show up as a fail is because Callers offices are not open after 1pm usually.plaguelift wrote:You don't have to redeliver the special before 1pm. Specials on a Saturday don't have to be scanned before 1pm either unless they have the SG Saturday Guarantee sticker on. Just that the Doms hate you not doing them all before.

Re: Redelivering a Special...
The system doesn't care if an item has a Saturday Guarantee sticker on it will see anything attempted after 1pm as a failureenskied wrote:plaguelift wrote:Specials on a Saturday don't have to be scanned before 1pm either unless they have the SG Saturday Guarantee sticker on.
