Manager's Performing OPG work

Morning all,
Just trying to get a flavour nationally, on what it's like in your DO/Mail Centre with line managers, and shift managers performing postal grade work?

where I am it's ingrained and widespread, even though there's an agreement in place for them not to.

It's annoying to see a manager performing a similar role to yourself but getting paid more for the privilege.

Bottom line is, if they're working alongside you, they're not performing their paid role, and it's denying O.T for members

Happens continually on the Night Shift in NIMC.

Rural DO. It hardly ever happens here to be honest. On rare occasions they push yorks around, on ever rarer occasions they prep frames where it didn't get done in the morning so that the mail can be delivered on OT by OPGs in the afternoon. Usually it appears that they are happier to fail a round rather than to touch any of it themselves. We once had some managers from another office come to deliver a failing round, but our own managers didn't do any of it.

All the time at my d.o .they do at least the amount of work it would require at least 6 full time new staff members to do. And it's a joke

Ours can regularly be seen throwing mail in, doing IPS, and covering the locker.

Get the rep to lodge a disagreement about. I am pretty sure you have pt colleagues in your office who would appreciate getting their contracts increased
