Its About £4.00 a week to be in the CWU

4 x 52 = £208 a year, Now That's a Reasonable Bonus £208.

Considering what the managers will be getting. - Just Do Something for a change listen to us and Support Us :dance

Not great , my dom mentioned £154 but then we shouldn't expect bonuses at work. When you signed up for the job , you signed for a wage for your work, we get stamps, £200 christmas bonus and free shares more than 50% of any other worker.
My daughter in a supermarket gets a bonus but thats for being at the sales end of the job. I dare say rm's product sales teams get a bonus for getting more customers but it's rare for the slaves to get a bonus too!
I still disagree with linos getting any bonus though, because they do very little! :Very Happy
Waiting to be shot down now.
Why are lino's paid full-time ??

This bonus is just a side show & not at all important in the great scheme of things. Over the last 3 years we have received pay rises well above the vast majority of others because we have a "decent" union. For us to keep our current pay & conditions & improve on them in a meaningful way the union must be strong with our full support. If we just bicker amongst ourselves bitch about the union & not fully support it (and they fully support us" we will go the way of the many on zero hours contracts & minimum wage or not much better. Just what those at the top want.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

The overall pay of a postie has not even kept pace with inflation in the last 10 years. Where basic pay has risen probably in excess of inflation, overall pay has been eroded by the taking away of other benefits, the main one being D2D payments. The delivery supplement was added to reduce the sour taste of losing D2D payments but in reality it meant a reduction in total pay for most delivery staff. The CWU has done little to enhance pay over the last ten years, but has been great in making you all work much harder (or efficiently as RM & CWU would say) for very little compensation.

The basic wage in 2002 was £256. Most part-timers on 27-29 hour contracts get about that now. And I bet are doing a lot more work than you're full time postie in 2002.
The only posties getting a good wage now are full-timers, hence why RM are doing their best to get rid of them.

That would be difficult. 2002 There were 2 deliveries, nothing was automated it all came as crash sorting, D2Ds were done outside of the work plan, the traffic figures were a lot higher, they started at 5am or earlier, no PDAs - it was a different job back then (I started in 2004) unrecognisable from today.
