I have recently been off work with a broken foot for 3 months. I have returned but on light duties and a 'fit to work' note from my consultant pending a further review and xray in clinic in a couple of weeks. I am on an 8 week rehab plan but have not got ATOS involvement. I have been issued with my Stage 1 which I was expecting.
I would like to know what happens if my consultant thinks that I need surgery as if this happens I will need to be off work again. Would this trigger a Stage 2 OR would it not count as I am still covered by a current sick note and it is the same ongoing problem?, thanks in advance for any help.

Stage 2 is issued at the 'managers discretion '. Take your union rep with you and argue your case with management.
