christmas bonus etc?

Hi all just wandered what the situation is at christmas? does the depot you work at get a budget for a meal and drinks or something or does the company just give all employees a set amount?? Ive heard about the xmas stamps...50 i believe i was just curious as to what the agreement or understanding is.

at our DO the Dom buys in some food / soft drink for Xmas eve.

last year he paid out £50 and everyone was fed well and still had stuff left over. Sandwiches, Cakes etc.

everyone gets the 50 free stamps.

some offices also have little Cliques that will go out for meals etc at Xmas, but you have to be in those cliques to get an invite :)

Oh right so the Dom must get a budget to give everyone a little party....what about off royal Mail themselves? Apart from stamps Is there a money bonus? New starter so just asking it'll soon be upon us!.....

DOM paid out £50 for staff to have xmas food?

Seriously, I remember one year a box of aldi mince pies appeared at the signing in sheet (worked out at nearly one third of a pie each), but I don't think any DOM paid for that, they were probably free.

Not sure your DOM gets any budget as such for the office, it depends on how human your DOM is. We've had some that have got their wife up at the crack of dawn to fry sausage and bacon cobs for 150 staff, some that will buy in sandwiches n stuff from m&s and some who did fk all. In the old days there was a drinks table full of booze, which was consumed before, during and after the Christmas Eve delivery, which usually took about 30 mins but the three weeks of compulsory 12 hour shifts beforehand meant that they really did appreciate you. None of this , right it's cleared up all the cards now let's push the holiday catalogs out nonsense we get now!

Our DOM did even better than his usual 'scoff mince pies and slope off early' trick last year - didn't even turn up to work on Xmas Eve!
