Can i ask to have a rep with me while I get tested out on delivery? As my rep told me I don't need a rep with me. But he was fine for two managers to go out with me.

a walk test is done with a dim and a union rep otherwise it is not valid , refuse to do it and get in touch with your area rep, ive been through similar where a dim and a running tested my delivery while I was off and the office rep was off as well, then was telling people that it only took him and a runner a certain time ,no trolleys , no m/reliefs oh and he left the big parcels for somebody else on o/t , oh its a p&l duty but he d so when I found out I got in touch with are rep who told him u cant do it , it has to be duty holder and a cwu rep has to be present.

I've already had the test here's a bit more info. I was tested from I came into work firstly on the sorting where two managers watched me all morning they were also getting staff to clear mail of to my frame while I sorted something that never happens on a normal day. Then out on my van share were they took turns to follow me. Like I said I tried to speak to the rep that was in that day who also happens to be the area rep. I told him was it right for me to go out with two managers and no rep he said it was right I could not speak to him long as they rushed me out. I am now having to go meet another dom who is supposedly going to talk over how I've done. I personally feel as if I was being set up to fail don't know what to do.

So apart from clearing your mail in the morning - which might save some minutes; for a part timer, the minutes saved will depend on how much was there before and how much mail is being sorted in the day. They should not have cleared for you - as it is unrealistic and skews the test but not by that much.

If this was a P&L, then I do not see how they can influence the test any further as you will be working with your partner; as you should normally do the job; sign for van, van checks,bagging, collect specials, trolleys, letter checks, breaks, P739s, DTN and so on.

I guess it might have been intimidating to have 2 managers monitor you and it should have had at least an independent member of staff; Rep, PHG, Spare staff or somebody else that can also make notes and follow the guidelines and key markers of what the test is about.

I think the objective should be clearly set out, the procedure should be made clear, the check list should be obvious and made available before and after the test and the test should be carried out without interference or an average day (not heavy like a Wed or Thurs or too light like a Tuesday) or any underhand tactics.

The question now is - did you actually managed to complete your duty (taking breaks) within your contractual hours? Why are you so worried?

I'm full time.Yip I completed on time with break and only one dtn as not much bulk(this was on my loops don't no about the others). but the manager who took the test is now telling me I was going to slow while out on delivery and I need to "watch myself" it was not my normal van share partner who was on with me and wee had no d2d which wee do in a block system which is why I got finished on time. He is now saying that because of this I will not be allowed to claim overtime or cut off. I was hitting 36 a minute on my sequence mail btw which he say was fine but won't tell me anything else about till I speak to the dom. I estimate that with d2d I would be half an hour over like I am most days with d2d. So the impression he is giving me is the duty is now achievable even with d2d.

The above is probably why the REP should have been with you; you cannot fully trust the managers to be transparent and above board.

did they count all your mail ? inc d2ds , pkts , as everything has to accounted for . that's what they did with us and we both pissed it , been waiting 11 mth for the clowns to test outdoor but we know that wont happen , sooner the better.

did you use a trolley ? has he tested anyone else indoor or outdoor ? 1 rep and 1 dim , 1 goes with you and 1 goes with your partner , your rep should now the score.

Yes trolley was used. I done everything as I was ment to. No others have been tested and they don't plan to test others

well if your rep as agreed to say they can do that he is wrong as its got to be the regular duty holders and if its a p&l then you and your partner have to be tested not just you , explain this to your rep and tell him you will go above him and then ask him for a h1 form against the dim as he cant just pick you out , its not right and don't let them try and bullshit you.

I was led to believe that there is no agreed 1 min test on a duty frame anymore, only on the IPS.

Your rep is completely wrong and by the sounds of it just could not be bothered.I would complain to cwu about the reps lack of support and i would also ask for a re-test under normal daily conditions.

Went to see my rep today as I was ment to meet the dom which has been cancelled now, to ask advice on what to do next raise a grievance or what not. He told me not to get into fights that I can't win.
