How many managers

Ok, at the moment we have 99 staff in my delivery office and there are 6 managers, of which 2 are doms.
On a Saturday this drops down to 2 managers and they've gone home by 10.30.
All this talk of efficiency, how can this be right?
Am I correct in saying the ratio is 1 manager to 40 staff?
WHY ARE THE UNION NOT SAYING WE ARE BEING MORE EFFICIENT, WHEN WILL THE MANAGERS?

There is no set ratio

also it's not the unions job to try and get managers made redundant it's the unions job to look after its members. It helps no one for one union to effectively attack another unions work force.

If the cwu started trying to get efficiencies from mange mentioned grades I bet you the unite union would be all over us posties trying to get more efficiencies out of us. It's not a race to the bottom

Didn't think they were allowed to sort or post. Isn't that considered taking over our work?

I do think as management cull is imminent though. After all, the work force has been drastically reduced and we were a top heavy company before they chopped the workers. There were a few management redundancies the other year but they still need to lose half of them. I think that's why they are all trying to get themselves noticed by bullying, harassing and generally changing things just for the sake of it. So the area managers will think they are worth keeping?!

Our linos or whatever they are only sort missorts in the morning, but even that job is now given to one of our walksorters!! they say they deliver cutoffs but that is very rare and only if they cant get a nark to do it. 6 extra lazy boys we dont need here.

You wouldn't be pushing for management redundancies if you were a manager.

Is that all Rambo ? In my office, 1 DOM and 1 sometimes 2 linos. They deliver, sort, prep mail and door to doors, do re-di's and still find the time to go home early. PAYING AN ARSE LICKER TO LOCK UP.
Oh !! I nearly forgot. Quite often the managers will be waiting for a van to return to go out on delivery while the postie goes home up to 2 1/2 hours early.

Those managers need to grow a pair then as posties shouldnt be going home 2 and a half hours early, if they are then when the inevitable revision comes they have no right to moan, no manager should be going out to deliver unmanned walks if staff are going home that early

Those posties need to wake up and realise every move they make is being watched, managers know exactly what call rate there is with regards to sequenced mail and even if you have the stupidest dom ever they will know what time you get back, if you really finish that early at least get rid of all parcels and park away from the office as all you are doing is stitching yourself up

We've loads of lapsed duties in my office. Its about time they lapsed a managers job.
