Last week we published our latest Quality of Service report, revealing that we delivered our regulatory targets for the financial year 2014-15.
We met our First Class target of 93.0%, and over the same period exceeded our target for Second Class, delivering 98.9% against a target of 98.5%
Kilmarnock (KA) in Scotland was one of our best performing postcode areas, delivering 94.7% of First Class mail the next working day.
Top tips
James Jarvie, DOM at Kilmarnock delivery office, gave us his top tips for achieving high quality standards. He said: 'We ensure that the office is cleared every day. Our clear office policy is achieved by keeping all colleagues engaged. We have a huddle every day in which we share real time info on our performance the day before.
'We also keep everyone up to date on the competitive landscape so they know the importance of meeting our targets.'
There are two other aspects he attributes his offices success to: 'The team meet up with managers when they return from their duty to discuss their performance. This enables us to address any problems immediately and find solutions.
'We also display our weekly performance figures so everyone can keep an eye on their performance and see where they need to make improvements.'

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I read this and felt so strongly I has to rejoin under an assumed name to reply.
That in itself tell you what Kilmarnock delivery office is like.
The clear office policy is achieved mainly by threats, intimidation and working staff into the ground.
We have had a big increase in sickness and injuries over the past year and a half.
Also full timers have been a target for the most trivial matters and threatened with conduct whenever possible.
Staff are told that they CANT claim dockett if they didn't say exactly how much they would be over before going out.
Staff are bullied and harassed for trying to cut off, told their jobs are in danger.
It would be interesting to see the stats of b n h in the do compared to the QoS.
Yes the mail has been delivered, but I thought 7/8 pm at night constituted a fail?
Or was it just a fail that some staff were so scared of losing their job they worked on.
I know its not great etiquette to slag someone off on a website but my personal feeling towards james Jarvie if I wrote them down here would lose me my job

Oh and the team don't meet up when they get back as the managers are usually long gone, especially on a Saturday, how many injuries etc that needed recording were ignored due to no managers being present?

the cutting off procedure, really needs to be changed as it pits the professional(the postie) against the amateur(the dom) with the dom arguing what he knows nothing about, this would not happen in any other business, what if you miscalculate and finish early, they want to conduct you.... well , what's good for goose, is good for the the gander!!!! if you are forced to take out all of your delivery and finish over, then your dom should be conducted!!!! sounds fair to me!!!!

Re: MRM : How Kilmarnock delivered excellent QoS result :Sha
As far as whistleblowing went at Kilmarnock a manager from another area was sent to investigate after dom left at least four of the female opg's in tears.
I'll list some stuff that should have been and may have been raised.
Sexism...harassment by comments
Racism by comments
Disability discrimination, slander, libel, manipulation of fail reports.
Mail hidden in vans, mail left in hct outside all weekend as manager had went home before opg..shocker I know.
Staff told to drive vehicles they shouldn't
Paid for not taking breaks I.e extra ghost docket
Accidents...lol,incidents? injuries routinely recorded as near misses and opg's bullied into working when injured.
And what happened when all this was reported?
Nothing.
You wonder why in a business that relies on honesty, the majority of middle management are unbeliably corrupt.
POSTMAN....the amended title is correct.sham is what it is.
Oh and hello to anyone from hr reading this
